WYDOT late season construction updates
JACKSON, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Transportation is working on several late season construction projects before winter weather brings work activity to a halt this year.
Broadway work
Work began this month on two infrastructure projects in the downtown area. Initial work is focused on the installation of new drain inlets, sidewalk, and ramp replacements on Broadway Avenue at Cache Street, Glenwood Street, and Millward Street along with a new traffic signal at the intersection of Millward Street and Broadway Avenue.
At Millward and Broadway, the new temporary signal was installed last week, and crews are working on placing new drill shafts and boring conduit lines. Crews will also be working on the new signal installation by the end of the month. Concrete work on the sidewalks and ADA corners around the new signal is underway and crews hope to complete the concrete work in the area by November 20th.
At Broadway and Cache, concrete removal and construction on drain inlets is underway on the south side of the intersection. Crews plan to place new concrete and complete work on the intersection by the end of the week. Crews will be at Broadway and Glenwood next week to pour concrete and work on drain inlets.
Heavy vehicles and commercial traffic should detour around the project area via North Jackson Street. All active construction, detours, and intersection closures are scheduled to remain in place until Nov. 21, when crews will suspend operations for the winter season. Contract crews will return to the site in the spring to complete the remaining project work.
WYO 22 night work
Beginning this evening, WYDOT maintenance crews will be working at night on areas of Wyoming State Highway 22 from Wilson to the salt sand shed installing delineators. Work will take place between 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should expect to see lane closures and delays, and watch for flaggers and roadsides workers. The work is scheduled to last 3 nights.
Snake River Canyon
Paving is currently underway on two sections of US 89 the Snake River Canyon after crews have completed this season’s milling operations. Work will continue to take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the next couple weeks. Crews are continuing paving operations on the last two sections for this season, weather permitting.
WYDOT reminds motorists to reduce speeds, obey all traffic control devices, and watch for roadside workers when driving through construction zones. The schedule is weather
